Srinagar, Jun 23 (KNO): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul on Monday said the Business Rules can be accepted by the Lieutenant Governor only after the document is framed properly. He added that the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will be given at the "appropriate" time. On the sidelines of the function organised on the anniversary of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Koul, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, “The Business Rules that our government sends to the LG should be sent properly, and he will approve them.” Asked about the CM’s statement on Business Rules, he reiterated that the rules shall be accepted only after they are sent properly to the Lieutenant Governor. The BJP leader further said that there was no question of conducting polls again. “The elections have been held for five years and will take place only after the present government’s term is completed,” he said. Responding to the query on reports about statehood to be restored on terms and conditions, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have promised that the statehood will be restored at the appropriate time. On Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s rejection of providing water to Punjab for a project, Koul said, “Nobody other than Pakistan wants our water. Why should we provide water to them? Punjab doesn’t need our water. Jammu people have been facing a severe water crisis. We need to ensure the drinking water supply to them first.” He added that the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty by the central government has been appreciated by the people. About the US attack on Iran, the BJP leader said, "They don’t want Iran to become a nuclear power and thus have been attacking the country." He said the Prime Minister has already talked to Iran in this regard and conveyed a message of de-escalation. India wants peace and wants resolutions through dialogue, but those who don’t want peace are being given a befitting reply by India, he added. Koul further said that every Indian stuck in Iran will be brought back to their home country safely—(KNO)
